  • 2 Feb 2013: Dr T-K Kim has been invited to give a tutorial at MVA13 in Kyoto, Japan, May 2013.

  • 2 Feb 2013: We have new research contracts. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd supports a post-doc project on 3D hand posture recognition, worth £95K, during May 2013-Apr 2014. We also participate in NOPTILUS project, worth 450K Euro for our side, funded by European Commission FP7, during Apr 2011-Mar 2015 (we have taken this over from Prof. Maria Petrou since Jan 2013).

  • 2 Feb 2013: Dr. Chanki Yu joined us as a postdoc fellow. His research is sponsored by NRF Korea.

  • 2 Feb 2013: Three new PhD students recently joined us: Andreas Doumanoglou, Akis Tsiotsios and Mang Shao. Andreas does a remote-PhD funded by EPSRC DTA scholarship and his European project at CERTH, Akis is fully sponsored by the Euproean project, NOPTILUS.

  • 20 Jun 2012: Our PhD student candidate, Alykhan Tejani, has been awarded a EPSRC DTA scholarship, which covers up the full home tuition and maintenance during his PhD.

  • 19 Apr 2012: We have received a large number of applications for the recent job posts, despite the short advert time. The competitions were fierce, 1:+40 and 1:+75 for the postdoc and phd studentship respectively. The successful phd candidate is Mr. Alykhan Tejani. Many congratulations and warm welcomes.

  • 19 Apr 2012: Many congratulations to Chao Xiong for his paper accepted from ICIP 2012. It is his first paper, which he worked on during his MSc with us.

  • 19 Apr 2012: Our PhD student candidate, Wenhan Luo, has been selected for the prestigious CSC-Imperial scholarship, which covers up the full overseas tuition and living cost during his PhD period. He was also nominated by the EEE dept for the Lee family scholarship.

  • 08 Mar 2012: We warmly welcome Prof. Yuru Pei from Peking University, China. Her visiting us for 1 Mar 2012 - 30 Aug 2012 is sponsored by CSC.

  • 16 Feb 2012: We have successfully got the prestigious EPSRC first grant, worth 120K pounds, which is a two-year program and supports a post-doc in the second year.

  • 30 Jan 2012: We have got an industrial (Omron) contract worth 65K pounds for one year post-doc project.

  • 22 Jan 2012: Welcome back Wai Lam Hoo from Univ. of Malaya, Malaysia. This time, he visits us during 30 Jan 2012 - 14 Jul 2012.

  • 22 Jan 2012: Welcome Ju-Hong Yoon and Seung-Hwan Bae from GIST, South Korea. They are with us at Imperial for 1 month in Feb 2012.

  • 22 Jan 2012: Congratulations to Kyuhwa Lee for his ICRA2012 paper accepted.

  • 21 Nov 2011: Chao Xiong, one of our MSc students in the academic year of 2010-2011, receives the top student award among 108 students at EEE of IC and the the grant towards his PhD starting in Jan 2012.

  • 21 Nov 2011: The grant proposal for the Imperial and NUS joint PhD programme, of Dr. T-K Kim, Prof. Shuicheng Yan and Mr. Chao Xiong, has been accepted and is worth about 120K pounds up to 3.5 years.

  • 25 Sep 2011: Welcome Danny Tang and Yang Liu, two of our own PhD students, starting in Oct 2011. Danny is one of the top graduates at UCL and Yang is from NLPR at CAS and the recipient of the 1st/2nd prizes at the National Mathematics contest in China.

  • 25 Sep 2011: Congratulations to Yang Liu for winning the prestigious Chinese government scholarship and the overseas scholarship of EEE of IC.

  • 25 Sep 2011: Welcome Youngkyoon Jang from GIST/KAIST. He is visiting us for 3 months till the end of Nov 2011.

  • 01 Aug 2011: We have received 100+ PhD applications, and have made only a few offers to highly selective candidates for Oct 2011.

  • 01 Aug 2011: We have got one paper accepted from ICCV2011.

  • 01 Jul 2011: Dr T-K Kim's new course proposal on machine learning for computer vision has been approved by the college. The course will begin from Oct 2011 and every following years.

  • 15 Jun 2011: The 1st year EEbug project group of students whom Dr T-K Kim advised are the Farnell prize winners.
